Job summary

Survey Solutions in Vermont is seeking an Assistant Utilities Survey Manager to support the Regional Operations Manager in running the regional office and coordinating survey operations.

You will help manage survey projects, ensure quality, supervise field staff, and handle data management, RAMS preparation, site audits, sub-contractor relations, and client communication to ensure surveys are completed accurately and on time.

Qualifications

• Must have worked as a Senior Utilities Surveyor in a previous role.
• Extensive experience of managing surveying teams.

Responsibilities

• Act as Project Manager on complex projects from initiation to completion and lead planning, coordination, and execution.
• Coordinate cross-functional activities between field teams, data collectors, contractors, and stakeholders.
• Oversee data collection processes and maintain operational integrity throughout project lifecycles.
• Expected to assume full managerial responsibilities during Regional Operations Manager absences.
• Lead, mentor, and develop field staff, surveyors, and data collection teams.
• Provide ongoing coaching, performance feedback, and professional development opportunities to team members.
• Foster a collaborative team environment that promotes knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
• Lead on H&S with the team, conduct toolbox talks, PPE audits, site compliance and maintain high standards.
• Ensure strict compliance with all operational processes and health & safety procedures.
• Uphold commitment to data integrity, environmental responsibility, diversity, equality, staff welfare, brand awareness and ethical practices.
• Oversee data collection processes and maintain data integrity throughout project lifecycle.
• Must hold industry-recognized certifications as specified by the company.
• Participate in survey equipment testing, piloting, and validation processes.
• Review and refine survey procedures based on field feedback and project requirements
