University of Texas Rio Grande Valley seeks an Utilities Station Operator I to monitor and control campus HVAC and cooling plant equipment from a centralized location in Edinburg, TX. The role requires one year of technical-trade experience and the ability to respond to alarms and emergencies.
The position is full-time, on-site, with shift work including weekends and holidays. Training and support are provided as part of the Campus Facilities Operations team.

To provide control, monitoring, troubleshooting, documentation, and notification for the status of cooling plant heating, ventilation, and air conditioning equipment as well as facility ambient conditions UTRGV -wide from a centralized location.

Basic knowledge of standard office equipment. Knowledge of chilled water and condenser water systems or of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems.
Needs to be able to successfully perform all required duties. Exposure to Thermal Plant conditions. Ninety percent of time is spent in noisy machine and utility room. Exposure to outside environmental conditions. Constant weekend/evening work is required. Some exposure to mechanical +and/or electrical hazards.
Must be physically able to perform strenuous physical duties associated with the maintenance, installation, or repair of Thermal Plant systems equipment.
