Scope of Job
Provides professional project management across multiple higher education construction projects throughout the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley ( UTRGV ) distributed campuses. To provide mid-level, project management duties including but not limited to managing and coordinating with UTRGV staff and design professionals the efficient administration of contracts necessary to meet project goals.

Required Education
Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management or related field from an accredited University.
Preferred Education
Registration as Professional Architect or Engineer.
Licenses/Certifications
Required Experience
Four (4) years of related work experience providing project management of design and construction activities. Relevant experience may be substituted for education on a one-to-one basis Knowledge of building codes, including National Fire Protection Association ( NFPA ) 101, International Building Code ( IBC ), Texas Accessibility Standards ( TAS ), and the American with Disabilities Act ( ADA ), as well as learn and apply the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley Design and Construction Standards.

Equipment
Standard office equipment including personal computer, fax, telephone, printer, plotters, scanners and copiers. Use of AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite.
Working Conditions
Needs to be able to perform all required duties successfully. Office/industrial/construction environment conditions; some travel, evening, night and weekend work is required. Exposure to all weather conditions, especially to extreme temperatures. Possible exposure to chemicals and chemical fumes. Exposure to electrical and mechanical hazards. May occasionally require working at heights, in confined spaces, around rotating machinery, energized systems, bio-hazards or chemicals. Subject to standing, walking, sitting, bending, reaching, pushing, and pulling. Exerting up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. UTRGV is a distributed institution, which may require presence at multiple locations throughout the Rio Grande Valley.

Must be able to work under pressure, solve problems, and negotiate. Must possess excellent managerial and organizational abilities and strong interpersonal and communication skills. Experience in developing productive relationships with all clients, both internal and external to the University community. Must have the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
