Job summary

West Liberty Foods is seeking a Utilities Supervisor to lead HVAC/Refrigeration and utility operations at the West Liberty, IA facility. The role focuses on ammonia refrigeration, boilers, water treatment, and building systems to ensure safe, reliable plant operations.

The candidate will manage projects, vendor relations, budgets, and energy conservation efforts while ensuring adherence to health, safety, HACCP, and process safety requirements.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years in a manufacturing environment with utilities, refrigeration, facilities and production equipment maintenance.
• Strong knowledge and experience with Ammonia Refrigeration.
• Leadership and coaching abilities; problem solving and data processing skills.
• Must pass GCAP training in refrigeration, boilers, and PSM; Y must be able to obtain potable water treatment/water distribution certification.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day activities in Ammonia/Refrigeration, Water Treatment, Boilers, Wells, Air and Electrical Systems.
• Provide recommendations for refrigeration/utilities activities and review quotes, services, and labor for projects.
• Manage vendor relationships and develop department budgets.
• Support energy conservation measures and ensure health and safety requirements are followed on site.
• Develop and update Process Safety Management information and ensure compliance with all relevant standards.
• Schedule and supervise utilities department team members and oversee preventative maintenance programs.
• Track and report utilities weekly and communicate issues to management.
