Job description

The Project Manager II will provide strategic project tracking, management, and technical support for high-priority transmission projects, with a focus on substation and line standards deployment and adherence, material readiness, schedule risk, and cross-functional coordination.

This role requires a strong electrical engineering foundation combined with transmission/substation and project management experience. Interpret and help develop applicable standards and technical requirements, translate those requirements into actionable engineering and project deliverables, coordinate implementation across engineering, procurement, construction, project management, and operations, and track technical issues, risks, dependencies, and milestones through implementation while ensuring required in-service dates are met.
  • Improve material readiness by aligning engineering, project schedules, and Supply Chain to identify long-lead equipment needs early, validate material-required dates, and address availability or procurement risks.
  • Partner across Engineering, Project Management, Project Controls, Construction, Transmission Operations, Planning, and Supply Chain to resolve issues and strengthen execution.
  • Develop project analyses, risk summaries, dashboards, process improvements, and executive-level presentations.
Requirements - education & experience

  • Electric utility transmission project management experience
  • Bachelor's Degree
Nice-to-have / preferred skills
  • Transmission project and substation design/engineering experience
  • Project management experience on large or complex transmission projects
  • Working knowledge of transmission operations, construction sequencing, schedules, and material requirements
  • Demonstrated ability to identify project risks, dependencies, and mitigation strategies
  • Experience with long-lead substation equipment and material readiness, including transformers, breakers, structural steel, switches, relays, or conductor
  • Experience working across Engineering, Project Management, Project Controls, Construction, Operations, and Supply Chain
  • Familiarity with Primavera P6, Maximo, EcoSys, Power BI, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Experience with large customer/load, generator interconnection, EPC, or other schedule-critical transmission programs
