Job summary

St. Tammany Parish Government seeks an Assistant Director of Utilities – Operations to oversee water and wastewater operations, lead capital projects, and report to the Director of Utilities. The role emphasizes coordination across departments, regulatory compliance, and staff supervision.

The incumbent will manage budgets, develop policies, and ensure safe, reliable utility services for parish residents. A Bachelor's degree and relevant supervisory experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a field related to utility operations.
• Minimum three years supervising a water/wastewater utility operation.
• Experience with capital improvement projects.
• Familiarity with EPA, LDEQ, and LDH regulations.
• Valid Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Supervise Parish water and wastewater operations and report to the Director of Utilities.
• Coordinate with Utilities Supervisors on daily operations and capital projects.
• Develop, administer and maintain budgets for Parish water and wastewater operations.
• Ensure development and delivery of compliance reporting to LDH and LDEQ.
• Attend public meetings, trainings and seminars as required.
