Job summary

The City of Pompano Beach is seeking an experienced Utilities Laboratory Supervisor to plan, coordinate, and supervise the daily operations of the Utilities Analytical Laboratory to ensure accurate testing, regulatory compliance, quality assurance, and accreditation in line with FDOH, TNI, and EPA standards.

You will oversee laboratory personnel, QA/QC programs, sampling coordination, data integrity, reporting, and safety, while maintaining certification and SOPs.

Qualifications

• At least three (3) years in a NELAP/FDOH-accredited laboratory with knowledge of TNI Standards and QA.
• Experience with analytes and methods for public utility water and wastewater operations and regulations.
• Must meet FDOH and TNI criteria for Laboratory Technical Director within six (6) months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct, supervise, and evaluate daily operations of the Utilities Laboratory including sample collection, testing, data validation, reporting, and workflow management.
• Maintain Laboratory Quality Management System (QMS) with QA/QC, audits, management reviews, and regulatory inspections.
• Coordinate sampling programs, testing schedules, and reporting to meet regulatory permits and environmental programs.
• Review, validate, and interpret data, reports, and QA results ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Supervise, mentor, and train laboratory personnel; manage safety, ethics, and data integrity programs.
