Job summary

NineStar Connect is seeking a GIS Technician to maintain and enhance our Geographic Information System, supporting electric, communications, water, and wastewater operations. You will ensure mapping data accuracy and availability for teams that rely on it daily, collaborating across departments on mapping projects and data quality.

The role emphasizes data stewardship, attention to detail, and the ability to translate complex maps into actionable information for operations and planning teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Geography, GIS, Computer Science, or a related field.
• One year of GIS experience preferred.
• Equivalent education and experience combinations, including GIS certificates or graduate education, may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate GIS mapping for NineStar's utility systems.
• Update GIS databases from staking, design, construction, CIS, and other company systems.
• Assist with GIS reporting and special mapping projects.
• Support preventative maintenance tracking and reporting.
• Collaborate with internal departments to keep GIS data current and accurate.
• Build relationships with local, county, state, and federal GIS organizations to share geographic data and best practices.
• Provide technical support for GIS software and mapping applications.
• Produce maps and geographic reports to support business operations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
