Job summary

Resource Data is seeking a GIS Technician to support development and maintenance of geospatial data and mapping products. You will work with GIS professionals, analysts, and project teams to edit data, map, QA/QC, and conduct research to deliver accurate geospatial solutions.

The role offers opportunities to develop technical GIS skills, contribute to high-quality deliverables, and collaborate across multidisciplinary teams in a consultative environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Geography, GIS, Environmental Science, or related discipline or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 0–2 years of professional experience, internship experience, or coursework related to GIS
  • Familiarity with GIS software and tools used for data editing, mapping, and quality control
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities

Responsibilities

  • Use geoprocessing tools to support data management, analysis, and mapping activities
  • Integrate high-accuracy GNSS/GPS data collected from field systems into enterprise GIS environments
  • Enter and validateGIS data to ensure alignment between field-collected information and GIS records
  • Perform GIS editing and QA/QC activities within Utility Network environments
  • Create and maintain GIS databases, mapping files, and other geospatial products
  • Follow best practices to produce accurate maps, reports, and GIS deliverables
