Job summary

CK Contractors and Development LLC is hiring Utility Operators to dig trenches for sewer, storm drain, and water lines. You’ll operate heavy equipment and ensure safe procedures while coordinating with the crew.

The role covers pre/post checks, documentation, and adaptability across sites within a 70-mile Charlotte radius. Requirements include 2+ years of equipment experience, safety consciousness, and ability to travel and work overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience safely operating heavy equipment.
• General knowledge of excavation practices and locate requirements.
• Strong safety awareness and willingness to follow policies.
• Ability to work with others and communicate effectively.
• Willingness to travel and work overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Drive, operate and maneuver heavy equipment.
• Read and interpret blueprints to dig soil per specifications.
• Keep equipment and work area safe; monitor hazards.
• Coordinate machine functions with crew via signals.
• Maintain crew coordination with other trades and duties.
• Complete pre/post checks, maintenance, and record usage.
