Job summary

The City of Edmonds is seeking an experienced Senior Utilities Engineer to plan and manage water, stormwater and sewer utilities programs. You will develop capital projects, prepare design drawings, specifications and cost estimates, and oversee consultant and contractor contracts.

Responsibilities include technical reviews, field inspections, bid and contract management, and coordination with City departments and the public to ensure compliant construction and quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field with public works or construction related experience.
• Professional engineering license (PE) preferred or required by state.
• Valid driver's license at time of hire.

Responsibilities

• Plans and manages the City's engineering programs for water, stormwater and sewer utilities; prepares technical studies and performs hydraulic analysis to size new systems with appropriate capacity.
• Reviews and approves utility design drawings prepared by staff; seals and signs engineering drawings as required.
• Prepares and implements city standards and specifications for utility improvements and conducts plan reviews and inspections for private development.
• Manages capital improvement programs and develops water, sewer and storm drainage design drawings, specs and cost estimates.
• Coordinates project improvements with City Departments, private utilities and citizens; secures necessary easements for construction.
