Job summary

Veit & Company, Inc. is seeking a construction laborer to perform a variety of manual tasks on project sites, including operating tools, loading materials, and maintaining a clean work area. You will follow safety protocols and communicate with site management to address concerns.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, 6–12 months of construction experience, and a willingness to perform physically demanding work. OSHA 10, First Aid/CPR, and safety training are expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, six to twelve months of construction experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Knowledge and ability to work with equipment, materials, and supplies found in construction work.
• Ability to follow proper use and safety guidelines at all times.
• OSHA 10, First Aid/CPR, and demonstrated knowledge of applicable safety precautions and procedures.
• Ability to view and understand safety training video.
• Willingness and ability to perform manual work.
• Good communication skills both oral and written when working with all levels of management and employees, external vendors and other business associates.
• Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions.
• Must have good interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work with mathematical concepts.
• Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
• Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency as required by management and/or project requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform tasks involving strenuous manual labor at construction project sites.
• Load and unload trucks and haul and hoist materials.
• Maintain a clean job site at all times.
• Assist in identifying underground and overhead utilities before excavating.
• Ensure safety procedures and incident reporting are followed.
• Other projects or duties as assigned by management.
