Job summary

El Super is seeking a Utilities Clerk for #50 Ontario, CA to support daily store operations in a fast-paced grocery environment. Starting rate $16.90 per hour, ages 16-17 eligible, with a focus on customer service, stocking, bagging, and safety.

You will assist in the Produce Department, help customers, maintain cleanliness, manage carts, and perform price checks and go-backs. The role requires lifting up to 60 pounds and standing for long periods, in a team-focused, equal-opportunity workplace.

Qualifications

• Read and comprehend simple instructions, product labels, pricing codes, shelf tags, and memos.
• Write simple correspondence.
• Effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers and colleagues.
• Apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently up to 45 pounds, and occasionally up to 60 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Assist in proper maintenance of the store, particularly in the Produce Department, and assist customers on the store floor as needed.
• Properly bag groceries for customers when needed.
• Carry out groceries for customers upon request.
• Maintain store cleanliness and safety at all times.
• Maintain and retrieve store carts, run price checks, assist with go-backs, assist with check stand upkeep, and remove waste from the parking area.
