Job summary

El Super, part of the Chedraui USA family, is hiring a Utilities Clerk for Oceanside. The role supports Produce and assists customers on the store floor, including bagging groceries and carrying out purchases, while keeping the store clean and safe.

The position emphasizes physical tasks, light lifting, standing and walking, and offers a starting rate of $17.75 per hour with opportunities to grow in a fast-paced grocery environment.

Qualifications

• Read and comprehend simple instructions, product labels, shelf tags, short correspondence, and memos.
• Write simple correspondence.
• Effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers and colleagues.
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 60 pounds.

Responsibilities

The Opportunity

To assist in the proper maintenance of the store, particularly in the Produce Department and assist customers on the store floor as needed. The Utilities Clerk will properly bag groceries for customers when needed, carry out groceries for customers, and ensure the store is clean and safe at all times. Responsibilities also include retrieving store carts, running price checks, assisting with go‑backs, maintaining the check stand, and removing waste from the parking area. The working environment is typical for a fast‑paced grocery store and requires physical tasks such as lifting, standing, walking, kneeling, and visual and auditory requirements.
