Job summary

Impellam Group is seeking an experienced CAD designer/engineer to transform initial rough product designs in CAD into working documents and to review engineering drawings for compliance with specifications. The role requires an associate degree and 10+ years in the field, with familiarity in MicroStation and AutoCAD/AutoDesk, and knowledge of high voltage substations and document management.

The position is full-time with a hybrid schedule (3 days in office) and potential leadership duties.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in a related area and 10+ years of experience in the field or in a related area.
• Familiar with CAD designs and conforming drawings to specifications and standards.
• Experience reading construction field revisions and incorporating them into CAD drawings.

Job description

Transforms initial rough product designs using computer aided design (CAD) into working documents. Reviews engineering drawing and designs to ensure adherence to established specifications and standards. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of complicated tasks. May direct and lead the work of others. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.

Requirements - education & experience

Associate's degree in a related area and 10+ years of experience in the field or in a related area.

Nice-to-have / preferred skills

• Experience with MicroStation and AutoCad/AutoDesk
• Experience with design of high voltage substations
• Experience or familiarity with a document management system
• Experience reading/deciphering construction field revisions and incorporating them into CAD drawings

Full time, hybrid, 3 days per week in office. Generally 40 hours per week; overtime can be worked as needed but requires pre-approval.
