Job summary

Granite Construction Incorporated offers college internships and entry- level roles across locations. The internship focuses on assisting in accident prevention program administration, safety training, and inspections to support compliance with federal and state regulations.

Ideal candidates are enrolled in a Safety or Occupational Health program, with strong communication and leadership abilities, and a willingness to travel.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to teach, mentor and lead.
• Ability to work in high production environment and respond quickly under pressure and deadlines.
• Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
• Availability and willingness to travel frequently.
• Bilingual English/Spanish (Preferred but not required).

Responsibilities

• Promote compliance with the safety program and local accident prevention efforts to meet safety goals.
• Assist in development and implementation of safety programs to meet safety standards.
• Perform and document jobsite inspections and audits focusing on hazard recognition and corrective actions.
• Assist in safety meetings and training to communicate policy and standards.
• Participate in regulatory inspections to ensure compliance.
