Job summary

BUNNELL LAMMONS ENGINEERING is seeking a qualified Service Leader – UST Fuel System Testing & Compliance to manage compliance testing and regulatory support for underground storage tank systems in the southeastern United States. You will oversee field teams and ensure adherence to state and federal requirements.

The role emphasizes testing protocols, documentation, and client communication, with opportunities to expand services across the Carolinas and Georgia.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Science or Construction Management.
• 5+ years of experience in UST fuel system compliance or testing services.
• UST A/B Operator certification in one or more states.
• Strong working knowledge of federal (40 CFR 280) and state UST regulations.
• Experience with UST components including piping, sumps, sensors, overfill devices, and cathodic protection.
• Experience working with fuel retailers, commercial fleets, or government fueling facilities.
• OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER (or ability to obtain).
• Technical licenses or certifications related to UST systems, testing, or fuel system installation a plus.
• Strong leadership, interpersonal, and team management skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Lead scheduling and execution of required monthly, annual, triennial UST system inspections and tests, including: ALLD, line tightness, tank integrity, spill bucket and sump testing, overfill devices, and cathodic protection testing.
• Ensure all testing complies with EPA 40 CFR 280 and state-specific regulations.
• Prepare and submit accurate regulatory documentation to authorities.
• Maintain inspection records, test results, and compliance logs.
• Assist clients in responding to Notices of Violation (NOVs) or compliance concerns.
• Supervise field technicians, provide on-the-job training and safety guidance.
• Develop and deliver compliance summaries and reports to clients.
• Assist in expanding UST compliance services across the Carolinas and Georgia.
