Job Description: Theater Usher

Provide friendly and excellent quality service to guests attending shows in the theater and assist during show preparation and conclusion. Assist guests during emergency situations as needed.

GENERAL EXPECTATIONS:

1. Understand and adhere to established policies and procedures.
2. Arrive on time in appropriate uniform with a name tag for scheduled shifts.
3. Ensure the theater is in presentable condition prior to opening doors.
4. Attend scheduled buzz sessions prior to opening.
5. Perform duties such as escorting patrons to seats, assisting ADA guests with wheelchairs and scooters, collecting recording devices, etc. Refer to General Theater Operations for daily responsibilities.
6. Provide accurate information to patrons regarding venue logistics (ticket offices, restrooms, phones, concessions, show information, building knowledge, etc.)
7. Assist with established Front of House emergency procedures and procedures for injuries or medical emergencies.
8. Read show tickets accurately in dim lighting, using a flashlight if necessary.
9. Repeatedly climb stairs and stand for long periods, sometimes for the entire show duration.
10. Monitor assigned area for safety, cleanliness, and functionality; notify the Showroom Manager of concerns.
11. Respond promptly and courteously to guest needs, questions, comments, or concerns.
12. After the show, walk through the area to retrieve lost items.
13. Submit a detailed End-of-Shift report to the Showroom Manager nightly.
14. Follow attendance guidelines when leaving at the end of shifts.
15. Attend meetings and training sessions as scheduled; perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Preferably a minimum of 2 years of usher experience.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to maintain composure under stress.
• Ability to work effectively with a team.
