This role will be supporting the 15-week discovery phase of a sales enablement experience for employees in the financial service industry. This role will be closely collaborating with experience strategy and UX/Design to build the foundation for the experience vision. The UX/Design Researcher will conduct mixed methods research over the course of the discovery to understand associate needs, behaviors, workflows, pain points and opportunities. The work will include reviewing existing research, stakeholder interviews, contextual interviews and observations, concept testing, usability testing, and surveys. Research outputs and findings need to be translated into clear insights, recommendations and implications as they will inform personas, future state journeys, experience strategy and vision.
Day to day
- Conduct research and testing planning, including research approach and rationale, writing of discussion guides and developing interview activities, build out screener for recruiting, working with 3rd party recruiting firms
- Lead and facilitate cross functional analysis sessions
- Survey question design, programming and analysis
- Analyze research data and translate it into clear insights and recommendations/implications for strategy and design
- Ensure early insights are fed as relevant to the strategy and creative teams
- Work closely with strategy, design and UX to support the development of work artifacts like personas, future state journeys and the visualization of ideas
Technical Skill
- Experienced mixed-method researcher with strong qualitative UX design research and experience in designing, programming/fielding and analyzing surveys. 5 - 8 years relevant experience
- Extensive experience of a wide range of industry standard UX Research methodologies and tools (e.g. dScout, user testing, Maze, Qualtrics, and others)
- Proven experience of successful management and delivery of research on medium to large-scale projects
- Ideally, experienced in consumer, retail or banking spaces, with a proven track record of evaluating, scoping and shaping successful online services, content and experiences
- Employee research experience a plus
- Degree or equivalent qualification in a STEM subject, Psychology, Behavioural Economics, Human Factors, or Design.
- A strong team player, skilled at working in a cross-functional, multi-discipline environment with excellent communication skills and an ability to communicate effectively to senior stakeholders
- Strong commercial awareness with good strategic and analytical skills
- Excellent planning and organisational skills with ability to manage and own multiple competing priorities
- Experience using AI-enabled research and analysis tools to support qualitative analysis, with strong judgment around ethical and appropriate use, data output quality and data confidentiality
- Experience in supporting the development and testing of ai enterprise products and services
- Strong sense of the integrity of the research - ensuring that we’re not just rubber-stamping the client’s pre-conceptions
- Product design mind-set - comfortable in fast paced sprints & agile ways of working, loves customer research
- Flexibility in working methods - the agile approach compressing timelines; with a need to share detailed design alongside more conceptual ideas and extracting feedback from each
- Ability to build relationships and achieve buy in to research and insights
