Job summary

Walsworth in Overland Park, Kansas, seeks a User Experience Designer to join our Technology team in a hybrid, salaried role. You will define UX for cloud-based web apps and desktop software used in yearbook production, creating wireframes, user flows, and visual designs.

Collaborate with product, development, and marketing; present work, conduct usability studies, and contribute to a design system with accessibility in mind.

Qualifications

• Must include a link to a portfolio demonstrating user-centered design process and shipped digital products.
• 1-2 years of experience in a related role.
• Knowledge of accessibility guidelines (WCAG).
• Experience working in Agile product development environments.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience using the Atlassian suite of products and working with a Tailwind based design system strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Create elegant user-centered designs considering market analysis, user research and usability findings.
• Design the experience and interaction flow of cloud-based apps and desktop software.
• Create process flows, wireframes, and visual designs to conceptualize communication of interactions.
• Develop and maintain user interface specifications.
• Present design work to cross-functional teams and respond to feedback.
• Assist with design research and usability testing.
• Collaborate with Technology team through planning, definition, design, development and testing phases.

POSITION OVERVIEW:Walsworth is seeking a User Experience Designer to join our world-class Technology team. Modern yearbook production demands powerful, easy-to-use, cloud-based software for student-driven design, journalism, marketing and sales. Join our nimble, empowered team driving the experience at Walsworth, one of the nation's largest and most-storied yearbook publishers.The UX designer will define the directional and detailed user experience for a wide range of highly interactive web applications and software, delivered on desktop, mobile and tablet devices. The designer will engage in a multi-step process, including: wireframes, user flows, final designs, prototypes and specification documents.This is a hybrid, salaried, exempt position based out of our Walsworth - Overland Park, Kansas, office. The schedule is 8 AM - 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday.
