Our award-winning mobile app provides voice, text, and animated guidance for assembly, installation, maintenance, and repair, serving consumers, professional technicians, and clients.

About the Job

BILT is seeking an experienced User Experience (UX) Designer to join our team in Grapevine, TX, to design intuitive, polished, secure, and accessible user interfaces that power BILT’s mobile and spatial computing applications, and web-based portal. You’ll collaborate with a cross‑functional team to shape interactive 3D experiences that delight users and strengthen both the BILT brand and the brands of those we serve. This role will support customers from many industries, from retail to enterprise/professional, including federal contracts, requiring current U.S. citizenship.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design User Interfaces: Craft responsive, high‑quality UI components and custom views for web, mobile, and spatial computing platforms, ensuring a seamless and intuitive user experience across devices.
  • Secure UX Implementation: Collaborate with product and engineering teams to ensure UX journey maps and designs comply with overall product quality goals, security requirements, and accessibility standards.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with the UX team, product managers, and developers to explore, design and deliver cohesive, secure, and user‑centric features that drive elevated engagement within the BILT app.
  • User Testing & Iteration: Assist UX research to conduct usability testing, gather and analyze user feedback, and apply insights to refine designs—reducing friction and improving usability.
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as HCI, Graphic Design, Interaction Design or User Experience Design (including Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Cognitive Science) with a strong design portfolio, demonstrable product impact, hands‑on work with interactive mobile applications, and practical experience in UX design.
  • Citizenship: Current U.S. citizenship required due to federal contract stipulations and FedRAMP compliance. Candidates must provide verifiable proof of citizenship (e.g., passport, birth certificate).
  • Experience: 3+ years of experience in UX design for mobile/web applications; familiarity with 3D interactive content and experience designing and implementing user interfaces for iOS, Android, and Web. Augmented reality (AR) and spatial computing platform interfaces (visionOS) are a plus but not required.
  • Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of UX/UI design & prototyping tools (e.g., Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD). Familiarity with iOS (Swift) and Android (Kotlin/Java) development environments for collaboration with mobile developers. Experience implementing WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility standards is a plus.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent communication and storytelling abilities; skilled at turning user feedback into actionable design improvements prioritizing ease of use, security, and accessibility. Adaptable, curious, and proactive mindset with a passion for continuous learning and innovation.
  • Clearance: Ability to obtain and maintain a federal security clearance (e.g., Public Trust or higher) is a plus but not required at hiring.
  • Office requirements include routine use of standard office equipment (computers, tablets, phones, e‑mail) and security‑compliant communication platforms. Physical demands include prolonged computer use and occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds. Office hours: 8:30 AM–5:30 PM, Monday through Friday.
