Job Summary: Local family owned Smog Shop is currently looking for Automotive Technicians. The best candidates should be able to inspect, maintain, and repair cars and light trucks, utilizing computerized diagnostic equipment to identify issues with engines, transmissions, and electrical systems. Responsibilities
- Use your expertise and diagnostic tools to evaluate vehicle malfunction codes.
- Assist with establishing service center procedures for tracking repair status, maintaining technical documentation, and other necessary protocols.
- Carry out routine vehicle maintenance tasks such as tire rotations, oil changes, and brake pad replacements.
- Conduct in-depth vehicle inspections of all systems, including engine, transmission, and brakes.
- Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction and repeat business.
- Convey necessary vehicle repair information to customers in a clear and concise manner.
- Perform routine maintenance (oil changes, tire rotations), brake repairs, and repair components to meet manufacturer standards while providing customer service and technical explanations.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED is required.
- ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) certification is highly valued. SAE certification is preferred.
- Smog license is preferred but not required.
- Physical ability to lift heavy objects and work in varied environments (crouching, bending).
- Valid driver’s license is required.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Problem‑solving skills: strong critical thinking to diagnose complex, non‑obvious issues.
- Personal set of tools and ability to learn new automotive technology.
