Job summary

SUBARU OF DECATUR is looking for a USED CAR RECON TECHNICIAN to handle inspections, diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on a range of pre-owned vehicles on-site. You will ensure quality through thorough reconditioning aligned with manufacturer standards.

You’ll diagnose mechanical, electrical, suspension and drivability concerns, conduct multi-point inspections, and document repairs. We support training and growth within Lithia & Driveway.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of automotive technician experience required.
• Experience inspecting and reconditioning used vehicles.
• Ability to diagnose and repair a wide variety of vehicle makes and models.
• ASE certifications are ideal but not required.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections, diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on used vehicles.
• Complete reconditioning to meet dealership and manufacturer quality standards.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, suspension, steering, brake, and drivability concerns.
• Conduct multi-point inspections and identify repair opportunities.
• Perform routine maintenance services, including oil changes, fluid services, tire rotations, and brake work.
• Document repair orders and recommended repairs.
• Maintain productivity and quality standards.
• Collaborate with parts and service teams to complete reconditioning work and reduce vehicle downtime.
• Ensure all work is performed safely and in compliance with dealership policies.
