Job summary

Concord Honda, part of the Sonic Automotive family, is seeking a Used Car Buyer to source, appraise, and purchase quality pre-owned vehicles. You will analyze market data, negotiate acquisitions, and collaborate with sales and service teams to keep inventory aligned with dealership goals.

The role emphasizes accurate record-keeping, compliance, and maximizing profitability through informed leveraging of valuation tools and market trends.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of automotive sales, vehicle acquisition, inventory management, or dealership experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of vehicle valuation, market trends, auction processes, and used vehicle inventory management.
• Proven negotiation and relationship-building skills with the ability to secure profitable vehicle purchases.
• Ability to analyze market data, pricing reports, and inventory metrics to support acquisition decisions.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills.
• Proficiency with dealership management systems, appraisal tools, and automotive inventory software.

Responsibilities

• Source and acquire quality pre-owned vehicles through customer trade-ins, direct purchases, auctions, and online marketplaces.
• Conduct vehicle appraisals and accurately assess market value, condition, reconditioning requirements, and profitability potential.
• Monitor inventory levels and market trends to identify acquisition opportunities that align with dealership sales objectives.
• Negotiate vehicle purchases with customers, wholesalers, auction representatives, and other vendors.
• Utilize inventory management and market pricing tools to evaluate vehicle demand and competitive pricing.
• Collaborate with sales, service, and management teams to ensure timely acquisition, reconditioning, and merchandising of inventory.
• Maintain accurate records of purchases, appraisals, and vehicle acquisition activities while adhering to company policies and compliance requirements.
