Job summary

Ontario Hyundai in Ontario, CA is seeking an enthusiastic entry level used car buyer to coordinate the purchase and resale of vehicles at fair market value. You will work with dealership teams to acquire vehicles from various sources and discuss appraisals with customers.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED, strong customer service and communication skills, a confident, outgoing personality, and a professional appearance. This role offers competitive pay and benefits.

Responsibilities

• Work with sales, field management, and remarketing to understand needs and price vehicles.
• Coordinate appraisals and purchases with internal departments.

• Appraise and offer to purchase vehicles from dealership customers.
• Explain depreciation and equity to guests.
• Coordinate repairs whether done internally or outsourced.

The ENTRY LEVEL-USED CAR BUYERis extremely knowledgeable about our vehicles and services, the industry, and our market.This ENTRY LEVEL -USED CAR BUYER will coordinate the purchase and Resale Vehicles on fair market value and the process to acquire the vehicles from various avenues. They will be responsible for working with internal groups to complete the acquisition and disposal of the vehicles and ensure that all requirements are met. This person will also work with Dealership customers to appraise their vehicles.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED, previous Used Car Purchasingexperience (dealership preferred), excellent customer service skills, a confident and outgoing personality, a professional appearance, and great communication skills. He or she must be self-motivated with a willingness to continuously prospect to sell a minimum quota (or more!) on an ongoing basis.

Responsibilities

• Work with sales, field management, and remarketing to understand the needs, recommend on proper disposal channel and price vehicles.
• Work with internal departments to execute the deal and purchase the vehicles, coordinate appraisals.
• Interfaces with current used vehicle owners from multiple resources with the purpose of purchasing their vehicle.
• Approaches, greets and interfaces with dealership customers to appraise and offer to purchase their current vehicles.
• Knows and understands equity and values, and is able to explain depreciation to the guest.
• Work with maintenance department to determine if needed repairs are completed internally or outsourced.
• Manage the remarketing of the purchased vehicles, list for sale, pricing, marketing and setting discounts.
• Develop and run reports, analyze results of purchase and sell process.
• Identify and manage process improvement projects to improve the purchase/sell process and profitability.
• Make recommendations and give expert advice on the proper disposal of the units, pricing and discounts.
• Resolve complaints from the end-user if issues arise after resale by determining if the company covers the expense to make repairs or not.
• Other projects assigned as needed by management.

Qualifications

• This is an ENTRY LEVEL POSITION!
• 2 years’ experience in used vehicle pricing a plus.
• Exceptional Negotiation skills a MUST!
• Excellent Communication skills both verbal and written.
• Professional & Enthusiastic individual with a positive outlook.
• Strong organizational skills required.
