Job summary

Guest Services, Inc. is seeking a Captain to direct ferry operations and safely operate the vessel on a regular basis. The role serves as the primary onboard liaison with the USCG for regulatory compliance and oversees training and drills to maintain safety standards.

The Captain will ensure professional customer service, perform logging duties, and support waterfront operations while adapting to weather and variable conditions across the docking areas.

Qualifications

  • Current and valid USCG License and TWIC card required.
  • Must be able to work in all types of weather conditions.
  • Previous dock/marina experience preferred.
  • Ability to work remotely with little direct supervision (as per job description).
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move heavy objects and/or equipment.
  • Ability to establish and maintain harmonious working relationships with others.

Responsibilities

  • Directs ferry activities and operates the vessel safely and efficiently.
  • Serve as primary onboard contact with USCG regarding compliance with laws and regulations.
  • Administers training and drills aboard the vessel.
  • Ensure a high level of customer service on board.
  • Safely operate, clean, and maintain passenger vessel and boating areas.
  • Dock hand work and support non-motorized waterfront operations.
  • Maintain logs and records; interact professionally with customers and management.
