What you'll do

As a General Facilities Maintenance Technician at our retail store, you will execute routine maintenance tasks to ensure the safety, functionality, and aesthetics of Walmart stores, equipment, and fixtures. Operating under the supervision of the local General Maintenance Manager, you'll adhere to maintenance schedules, conduct inspections, and perform repairs.

Position Requirements

• 18 years or older
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., move and work on ladders frequently, and work at heights
• Ability to sit or stand for long periods and work in various temperatures
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and ability to pass MVR
• Vocational or technical certification and 1 year experience, or 2 years total work experience in trades like plumbing, electrical, or related

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair facilities, equipment, and assets using multiple craft skills
• Utilize work order management system for repairs and documentation
• Respond promptly to emergency maintenance calls
• Inspect and test facilities and equipment to diagnose issues
• Complete training to operate equipment and tools safely

Minimum Qualifications

Vocational or technical certification and 3 years' experience in trades like plumbing, electrical, or 5 years' experience in related trades. Valid driver’s license and eligibility for a CDL.

Preferred Qualifications

Completion of a 2-year vocational or technical trade program, trade license, and proficiency with standard office software.
