Walmart is seeking a Store Manager to oversee operations at its Montgomery location. The role requires strong leadership, financial management, and the ability to develop employees while maintaining high standards of customer service and compliance. Ideal candidates will possess a Bachelor's degree and relevant experience in a retail setting.
Develops, communicates, and leverages a strategic vision aligned with company market and local plans and tactics to direct the management team and associates in facility operations, merchandising, and company direction. Provides supervision and development opportunities for management and hourly associates in a facility that may present issues such as high turnover, engagement challenges, inexperienced associates, and recruiting difficulties in a competitive market. Responsibilities include ongoing recruitment, training, mentoring, performance evaluation, and fostering a sense of belonging across organizational levels.
Ensure compliance with company policies by proactively addressing complex issues, building relationships with officials, and maintaining safety and quality standards. Lead community outreach programs, represent the company externally, and promote company-sponsored initiatives. Drive financial performance by achieving sales and profit goals, controlling expenses, and analyzing economic trends. Oversee customer service, inventory, and store standards, and develop strategies to attract and retain a skilled workforce. Foster an environment of respect, integrity, and excellence, emphasizing customer service and continuous improvement. Maintain high standards of ethics and compliance, act with integrity, and support Walmart’s culture and sustainability efforts. Ensure associates are trained and engaged, and that store operations align with business objectives and community needs.
Bachelor's Degree and 2 years of general management experience, including financial accountability, and 4 years supervising at least 50 nonexempt and 5 exempt associates. Alternatively, 4 years of management experience with similar supervisory responsibilities. Additional requirements include successful completion of job-specific training and assessments, and compliance with all legal and safety regulations. For facilities selling firearms, successful background checks and training are required.
Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Leadership through Live Better U and Bellevue University, with experience as a Store Manager in a low or medium complex store, or 2 years in a high-volume retail store, particularly in grocery areas.
