Job summary

Walmart is seeking a Staff Software Engineer for the Marketplace Platform team in Sunnyvale, CA. You will lead design and maintenance of frameworks powering Walmart’s Marketplace for sellers and partners.

You’ll code, debug, and monitor app health to ensure reliable performance while mentoring engineers and collaborating with product and UX/UI teams. Experience with Java/SpringBoot, ReactJS, REST APIs, and Kubernetes is essential; cloud experience (GCP/Azure) and open-source contributions are

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area with 4 years of software engineering experience.
• Option 2: 6 years’ experience in software engineering or related area.
• Master’s degree in related field is preferred and valued.

Responsibilities

• Spend most time coding across frontend/backend; review code, debug, and optimize to uphold best practices.
• Build responsive UIs with JavaScript, HTML/CSS, React, and Webpack; ensure consistent UX.
• Develop scalable backend services using Java, SpringBoot, Kubernetes, and microservices.
• Mentor teammates and promote continuous learning and knowledge sharing.
• Drive architecture/design decisions; stay current on emerging tech; maintain documentation.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to improve user experience and integrations.
• Own app health: monitoring, quality, performance and issue resolution.

The annual salary range for this position is $143,000.00 - $286,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :
