Position Summary

VIZIO’s Technology – Software and Services team is seeking a Senior Quality Engineer to join their growing team. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work collaboratively within the team and contribute to innovative VIZIO products.

What you'll do

1. Perform front-end testing of VIZIO TVs, ensuring user-facing features function as expected and deliver a high-quality experience.
2. Execute test plans, work closely with developers to validate features, and provide feedback during development.
3. Review project deliverables to ensure they meet quality standards and align with product goals.
4. Create test plans for the QA team and deliver weekly reports to management.
5. Analyze and troubleshoot QA issues to ensure smooth development processes.

What you will bring

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and at least five years of experience in Quality Engineering are preferred. Candidates with equivalent hands-on experience without a degree will also be considered.

Proficiency in Python and shell scripting, especially for embedded environments, and experience in debugging embedded systems are required.

Understanding of performance testing, data collection, and experience working within an Agile environment is expected.

Familiarity with tools such as Confluence, Jira, and test management platforms is necessary.

Experience in log analysis, writing unit tests for graphics/video applications, and system health monitoring is desired.

Bonus points for experience with Smart TV or Soundbar technology, or knowledge of streaming protocols and DRM.

Minimum Qualifications

Option 1: Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field plus 3 years of QA experience.

Option 2: 5 years of experience in software quality assurance or related area.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in retail, supply chain, or eCommerce; Master’s degree; QA certifications; knowledge of accessibility standards such as WCAG 2.2 AA; experience with assistive technologies.
