VIZIO’s Technology – Software and Services team is seeking a Senior Quality Engineer to join their growing team. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work within the team and contribute to innovative VIZIO products.
In this role, you will perform front-end testing of VIZIO TVs, ensuring that user-facing features function as expected and deliver a high-quality experience.
You will execute test plans, work closely with developers to validate new features, and provide feedback during the development cycle.
You will review project deliverables to ensure they meet quality standards and align with product goals.
Creating test plans for the QA team and delivering weekly reports to management are also key responsibilities.
You will analyze and troubleshoot QA issues promptly, contributing to an efficient development process.
The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and have at least five years of experience in Quality Engineering, manual/automated testing, or related areas. Candidates without a degree may be considered with equivalent hands-on experience.
You should be proficient in Python and shell scripting, especially for embedded environments, with strong debugging skills in embedded systems.
Understanding of performance testing and data collection, experience working within an AGILE environment, and familiarity with tools like Confluence, Jira, and test management platforms are expected.
Expertise in log parsing, analysis, and writing unit tests for graphics, video playback, and system health monitoring is required.
Creativity and initiative to improve test coverage and quality are valued.
Bonus points for experience with Smart TV or Soundbar technology, or knowledge of video streaming protocols and DRM technologies.
Option 1: Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related, with 3 years of QA or testing experience.
Option 2: 5 years' experience in software quality assurance or related areas.
Experience in industry sectors like retail, supply chain, eCommerce, healthcare; a Master's degree in Software Engineering or related; or certifications like CSTE or CSQA are preferred.
Knowledge of accessible digital experiences, WCAG 2.2 AA standards, assistive technologies, and inclusive design practices is also valued.
