Job description

Position Summary

As a Senior Meat Cutter, you will drive sales in your area to deliver to our members more of what they love, for less. You will work collaboratively with other associates to ensure the total club meets the member’s expectations.

What you'll do
  1. Be a Team Member: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, educate other associates on tools, tasks, and resources, communicate effectively, and develop interpersonal skills for providing excellent customer service. Be flexible to the needs of the business, track goods, maintain in-stock levels, and control shrinkage.
  2. Be an Expert: Maintain in-depth knowledge of various meat products, equipment usage, and backroom operations. Provide meat products to members by processing meat according to specifications—cutting, slicing, grinding, and wrapping—while ensuring compliance with food safety standards, sanitation guidelines, and inventory management. Operate, maintain, and sanitize equipment.
  3. Be a Techie: Leverage digital tools to drive sales, improve the shopping experience, and elevate associate engagement. Use handheld technology for immediate business decisions related to production, training, and product quality, adapting to new tools and encouraging their use.
  4. Be an Owner: Drive business results by ensuring operational excellence, planning for profitability, maintaining a clean work area, and ensuring quality and standards for high-volume meat products. Eliminate waste, secure fragile and high-shrink merchandise, assist members with purchasing decisions, and ensure proper packaging, labeling, and storage.
  5. Be a Talent Ambassador: Advocate for the department and club by valuing the member experience in the meat area, modeling high-quality service and products, executing tasks at the highest level, interacting with associates to understand and overcome roadblocks, and assisting in training.
  6. Compliance and Work Management: Follow company policies, procedures, and ethics. Complete work assignments by collaborating with managers, coworkers, and other partners, prioritizing tasks, communicating progress, and seeking continuous improvement.
Core Values and Behaviors
  • Respect the Individual: Embrace differences, create an inclusive workplace, support and support others, and foster a culture of belonging.
  • Act with Integrity: Uphold high standards of ethics and compliance, demonstrate humility, honesty, fairness, and transparency.
  • Serve our Customers and Members: Deliver results with the customer first in mind, make informed decisions, and consider the impact on stakeholders.
  • Strive for Excellence: Be curious, learn continuously, take calculated risks, and support change and innovation.
