Job description

Position Summary

As the Senior Manager, Creative Business Affairs, you will support WCS’s business affairs team in driving creative and brand success while safeguarding enterprise interests. Your role involves developing processes, templates, and guidelines to improve creative and production operations, leveraging your expertise in production, advertising, and understanding of Walmart’s platforms. You will contribute to a forward-thinking team that leads in production innovation, manages risk, and embraces strategic challenges with an entrepreneurial spirit.

What you'll do
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Finance, Procurement, Legal, Agency Relations, Media, Creative, and Marketing
  • Analyze deal opportunities and develop strategies related to talent and production
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and legal requirements
  • Support licensing workstreams, including ideation and negotiation
  • Draft and negotiate talent contracts, ensuring contractual obligations are met
  • Conduct production audits and recommend cost management strategies
  • Maintain relationships with agencies, representatives, and attorneys
  • Identify and mitigate risks in marketing and advertising strategies
  • Set operational standards for AI tools in creative processes
  • Manage deadlines and complex projects, remaining solution-oriented
  • Operate effectively in a dynamic, creative environment
  • Provide strategic legal and regulatory advice
  • Report on business affairs activities to senior management
  • Foster a culture of excellence within the team
Qualifications
  • 7+ years in business affairs, legal, or compliance roles in advertising/marketing, with proven contract negotiation skills
  • Strong knowledge of advertising laws and industry standards
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills; proficient in contract management and budgeting tools
  • Experience with social media, platforms, broadcast, and new media
  • Attention to detail in reviewing reports and contracts
  • Strategic thinking with creative and business balance
  • Knowledge of digital marketing, media buying, and production
  • Familiarity with industry guidelines and union/non-union work (SAG-AFTRA, AFM, IATSE), branded partnerships, and emerging tech (AR, VR, Web3, AI)
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; JD preferred
