The ideal candidate is an organized payroll professional with hands-on ADP Workforce Now experience who enjoys working collaboratively across functional teams. This role supports the accurate and timely processing of payroll and helps identify opportunities for process improvement. Currently, we utilize ADP Workforce Now to pay our 1,000 USA employees, with plans to implement Workday Human Capital Management (HCM) in the near future. The Payroll Administrator will support this implementation under the direction of the Payroll Manager.

Key Responsibilities

  • Compliance and Reporting: Support tax filings, year-end processing (W-2s), and internal audits, and help ensure compliance with company policies and federal and state laws.
  • Data Integrity: Maintain payroll data integrity by conducting regular audits and reconciliations. Verify the accuracy of payroll data, including employee information, salary adjustments, benefits, and deductions.
  • Customer Service: Serve as the primary point of contact for payroll-related inquiries, addressing employee concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Documentation and Training: Help maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for payroll processing and assist colleagues with questions on payroll policies and procedures.
  • Audit and Control: Prepare and maintain accurate records for internal and external audits, and assist with compliance audits as needed. Ensure the confidentiality and security of payroll data, maintaining data integrity and accuracy of employee records.
Qualifications
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • A minimum of 3 years of hands-on payroll processing experience using ADP Workforce Now.
  • Strong working knowledge of ADP Workforce Now is required. Experience with Workday HCM is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of payroll laws, regulations, and best practices.
  • Willingness to learn new systems and adapt to evolving payroll processes.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Solid Excel skills to support payroll calculations and analysis.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
  • Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) is a plus.
  • Experience within a professional services organization would be preferred but is not essential.
  • The expected base salary range for this position is $60,000 – $75,000 annually. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, skills, and location. This position may also be eligible for discretionary bonus and a comprehensive benefits package.
  • L.E.K. Consulting offers a competitive total rewards package including medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, 401(k) with employer contribution, HSA contributions (where applicable), paid time off, and other firm-sponsored benefits.
  • This role is based in our Boston office and follows our hybrid work model for U.S. offices. We require employees to be in their assigned home office Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday each week, as well as the first Friday of each month.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis without the need for employer sponsorship. Unfortunately, we are unable to consider candidates requiring visa sponsorship, including but not limited to H-1B, TN, F-1 (OPT/CPT/STEM), or other work authorization.
