Sam's Club in Maplewood, MO is looking for a member service associate responsible for maintaining the checkout area and providing excellent service. The role includes resolving member issues, processing purchases, and assisting with training new associates.

What you’ll do: Provides member service and maintains the checkout area. Resolves member issues and concerns, promotes Sam’s Club products and services, and offers guidance on self‑service technology. Processes member purchases and assists with payments, returns, refunds, and exchanges in accordance with company policies and procedures. Follows safety standards, procedures, and guidelines, including conducting safety sweeps and using proper procedures for handling merchandise. Corrects and reports unsafe situations to facility management. Maintains entrance areas, acknowledges members, verifies membership cards, and identifies member needs. Assists members with purchasing decisions, locating merchandise, and transporting items. Arranges and organizes merchandise to maintain a safe shopping environment. Maintains exit areas, reviews member receipts, and assists with securing Sam’s Club assets and property by communicating potential criminal activity per company policies. Maintains paperwork, logs, and other required documentation and executes emergency response procedures while ensuring compliance with company security and safety practices.
Assists with training Member Frontline Services associates on company processes and procedures, teaches new technology and tool functionality, delivers new program rollout training, and provides continuous learning and process improvement opportunities. Ensures the area of responsibility follows company policies and procedures by properly handling returns, zoning the area, arranging and organizing merchandise, and identifying shrink and damages. Complies with company policies, procedures, and standards of ethics and integrity by implementing related action plans and using the Open Door Policy. Completes work assignments and priorities utilizing policies, data, and resources after collaborating with managers, co‑workers, customers, and other business partners; identifies priorities, deadlines, and expectations; carries out tasks; communicates progress and information; determines and recommends ways to address improvement opportunities; and adapts to and learns from change, difficulties, and feedback.
Live Better U is a company‑paid education benefit program for full‑time and part‑time associates in Walmart and Sam’s Club facilities. The hourly wage range for this position is $18.00 to $26.00*.
Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances. Premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.
