Job summary

Farmina in Houston is seeking a Pet Nutritionist to educate pet parents on personalized nutrition and to grow Farmina’s local footprint. You will work with independent retailers, pet professionals, and community partners, delivering in-store activities, events, and local content creation both in person and digitally.

Qualifications

• Must travel approximately 75% within a local territory.
• Available to work Wednesday through Sunday, including weekends and local events.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills with retailers, pet parents and professionals.
• Comfortable appearing on camera and creating photos, short form videos, and social media content.
• Self-motivated, organized, and able to independently manage a territory and schedule.
• Passion for pet nutrition, cats, dogs, and the pet specialty community.

Responsibilities

• Educate pet parents on Farmina nutrition, products, and services through in-store promotions and local events.
• Support retail partners through staff training, merchandising, activations, and ongoing relationship building.
• Help implement and grow Genius Center partnerships by increasing employee engagement, pet parent participation, registrations, and sales.
• Collaborate with Farmina's Social Media & Community Manager and Digital Marketing Manager to capture authentic local content.
• Build relationships with local retailers, pet professionals, influencers, and community partners for content and collaborations.
• Represent Farmina at retailer activations, local events, and community activities to connect the brand with the local pet community.

As a Farmina Pet Nutritionist, you will use your passion for cats and dogs to help pet parents make personalized nutritional decisions while supporting Farmina's growth within your local market. As a local face of Farmina, you will work with independent retailers, pet parents, local businesses, pet professionals, and community partners through education, in store activities, events, and local content creation. Working alongside Farmina's Social Media & Community Manager and Digital Marketing Manager, you will also help bring the Farmina story to life by capturing authentic content and developing local relationships that expand our reach both in person and digitally.

Requirements

• Reliable transportation and ability to travel approximately 75% throughout an extended local territory

Key Responsibilities

Pet Parent & Retailer Engagement

• Educate pet parents on Farmina nutrition, products, and personalized services through in store promotions and local events
• Support retail partners through employee training, merchandising, activations, and ongoing relationship building
• Help implement and grow successful Genius Center partners by increasing employee engagement, pet parent participation, recommendations, registrations, and sales
• Work closely with Farmina's dedicated follow up team to help pet parents stay engaged and on track with their pets' nutritional goals

Local Content & Community Engagement

• Work alongside Farmina's Social Media & Community Manager and Digital Marketing Manager to capture authentic photos, short form videos, stories, and content featuring retailers, pet parents, events, products, and KOL services
• Build relationships with local retailers, pet professionals, influencers, Key Opinion Leaders, and community partners to identify opportunities for content, events, and collaborations
• Represent Farmina at retailer activations, local events, and community activities, helping connect the Farmina brand with the local pet community both in person and digitally

Territory Development & Performance

• Manage a schedule of Genius Center activities, events, and local collaborations while working toward assigned territory goals
• Identify opportunities to grow Farmina within the territory and share retailer feedback, pet parent insights, competitor activity, and local opportunities with the broader team

Success in this role means building strong relationships with retailers and pet parents, growing successful Genius Center partnerships, creating engaging local content and collaborations, and consistently working toward assigned engagement and sales goals.

Compensation

Compensation includes an hourly base rate, monthly travel stipend, performance based incentive opportunities, paid time off, paid holidays, health insurance contribution including medical, dental and vision coverage, and a 401(k) retirement plan with employer matching.
