Job summary

Walmart Inc. in Bentonville, AR, seeks a Director of Communications to lead external communications for Walmart U.S. Realty, Facility Services and Asset Protection.

This role partners with senior leaders to tell Walmart’s story about investments in stores, facilities, people and communities, while guiding messaging and handling sensitive issues. You will serve as a spokesperson, advise executives on messaging, build relationships with reporters and stakeholders, and lead cross-functional teams

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Business, or related field and 5 years' experience in public relations, communications, or relevant area OR 7 years' experience in public relations, communications, or relevant area.
• 2 years' supervisory experience or experience leading cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead communications strategies for Walmart U.S. Realty, Facility Services and Asset Protection, including proactive storytelling and issues management.
• Lead communications for Walmart U.S. Realty, Facility Services and Asset Protection.
• Develop proactive stories and manages sensitive or high-profile issues.
• Advise senior leaders on messaging, media and stakeholder considerations.
• Serve as a spokesperson and help ensure clear, consistent external communications.
• Work closely with Operations, Government Relations, Legal and other partners.
• Build relationships with reporters covering real estate, retail, labor, safety and related topics.
• Turn business priorities into clear messaging, media strategies and communications plans.

• Proven expertise in developing and executing media and digital communication strategies aligned with business objectives.
• Strong ability to evaluate and report on media relations effectiveness to enhance corporate reputation.
• Experience advising senior executives on strategic messaging and issue mitigation.
• Exceptional skills in managing sensitive communications and serving as a high-level spokesperson.
• Demonstrated success in building and maintaining relationships with media and key external partners.
• Ability to lead cross-functional collaboration to ensure consistent messaging and public relations outcomes.
• Commitment to integrity, ethics, and fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

The annual salary range for this position is $110,000.00 - $220,000.00
