Job description

Position Summary

Leads and develops teams effectively by teaching, training, and actively listening to associates, touring stores, and providing feedback. Communicates and collaborates with all levels of associates regarding store operations, utilizing technology, business initiatives, merchandising, and company direction. Introduces and leads company change efforts, providing clear expectations and guidance to implement business solutions and communicate business objectives to teams effectively. Models and demonstrates exceptional customer service standards to store associates by following and demonstrating the One Best Way (OBW) service model. Manages and supports customer service initiatives, such as store community outreach programs, ensuring customer needs, complaints, and issues are successfully resolved. Develops and implements action plans to correct deficiencies and provides process improvement leadership to ensure a high-quality customer experience.

Drives the financial performance and sales of the designated store area by reviewing and evaluating PL (Profit & Loss) statements, managing budgets, forecasting, and controlling expenses to ensure alignment with sales. Monitors and ensures effective merchandise presentation, seasonal transitions, inventory flow, and operational processes. Develops and implements action plans to mitigate shrink and achieve sales and profit goals for the business area.

Provides supervision and development opportunities for hourly associates by hiring, training, mentoring, and assigning duties. Sets clear expectations, provides recognition, and communicates consistently and effectively. Promotes a culture of belonging in the workplace and recruits and develops qualified associates to meet staffing needs and support company growth.

Coordinates, completes, and oversees job-related activities by developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders. Supports plans and initiatives to meet customer and business needs, sets goals, builds accountability, measures progress, and addresses improvement opportunities. Demonstrates adaptability and promotes continuous learning.

Ensures compliance with company policies and procedures, supporting the company's mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity. Implements related action plans, supports the Open Door Policy, and guides on applying these in business practices.

Builds high-performing teams by embracing diversity, creating a supportive workplace, and fostering a culture of belonging. Works collaboratively, builds trusting relationships, and motivates and influences others. Attracts, retains, empowers, and develops talent, recognizing contributions and accomplishments.

The hourly wage for this position ranges from $31.25 to $38.46 plus differential, with additional performance bonuses. Compensation may also include regional pay zones based on location.

Minimum Qualifications

Two years of college; OR one year of retail experience and one year of supervisory experience; OR two years of general work experience and one year of supervisory experience. For firearm-selling facilities, successful completion of a firearms-specific Criminal Background Check (CBC) and Firearms Authorized Training is required. For ammunition-only facilities, a current state-issued Certificate of Eligibility may be required. Associates must attend and complete all required training and assessments, such as Academy and Open Door trainings.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Leadership through Live Better U and Bellevue University, or a Certificate of Completion in People and Business Leadership. Experience supervising five or more direct reports, including performance management, mentoring, hiring, and firing.
