Job summary

HSBC Holdings plc in the United States seeks a senior regulatory lawyer to provide expert legal and strategic advice on bank regulatory issues and cross-border prudential policy matters. You will help identify risks, report them, and mitigate where needed while guiding a high-performance US Legal team.

You will partner with senior executives and global regulators to shape regulatory policy, ensure regulatory compliance, and support sustainable business growth.

Qualifications

• JD is a mandatory requirement.
• Experience working at a US regulated bank or Bank Holding Company, with experience handling bank and bank holding company regulatory issues strongly preferred.
• Understanding of the global and regional strategy for HSBC and the US regulatory landscape.
• Ability to influence thinking and decision making with senior business sponsors; collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert legal and strategic advice to senior management on US bank regulatory issues and related North America cross-border matters.
• Lead and develop an inclusive team of lawyers to support the US Legal function.
• Coordinate, communicate and execute the strategic and operational objectives of the US Legal function.
• Partner with senior executives and stakeholders to drive growth while managing legal and regulatory risk.
• Manage external spend related to regulatory advice and ensure compliance with applicable laws.
