Job summary

Talan is seeking a highly skilled US Power Markets Business Analyst to join our Houston team in a hybrid role. You will work directly with traders, quants, developers, QA and senior technical staff to support power market workflows and end-to-end trade processes.

Strong subject matter expertise in US Power Markets is essential, with experience in ETRM and related systems. The role requires clear communication with business stakeholders and technical teams.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in US/North America Power & Energy (PJM, ERCOT, MISO, CAISO, NYISO, ISO-NE, SPP).
• Strong understanding of power trading processes, trade lifecycle, positions, pricing, and PnL.
• Experience with an ETRM platform such as Openlink Endur, Allegro, ION Aspect, TriplePoint, RightAngle or proprietary system.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a US Power Markets SME for Front Office and tech teams.
• Collaborate with traders and stakeholders to understand power trading workflows and business requirements.
• Document end-to-end trade lifecycle, from capture to position management, pricing, and PnL.
• Translate Front Office needs into clear business requirements, specs, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
• Identify gaps between processes and Orchestrade functionality and define solutions with stakeholders.
• Support requirements gathering, process mapping, testing, and implementation activities.
• Act as the main business interface between Power Trading, Operations, QA, Development, and Infrastructure teams.
