Job summary

Cartamundi in Erlanger, KY, is seeking a Us Playing Card - Coater Operator to load, test, and run the Spartanic Punch in the KEM department. The role requires operating the punch, maintaining quality checks, and recording production data.

Ideal candidates have 2–5 years of machine operation experience, with printing experience preferred; a high school diploma or equivalent is required. The position is full-time and based on-site in Kentucky.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Operate, clean and troubleshoot KEM punch.
• Conduct deck integrity inspections.
• Loads KEM sheets in the punch.
• Inspect sheets as they exit the machine for proper registration.
• Operates the machine controls in accordance with operating instructions.
• Immediately update maintenance and management of any machine or department abnormalities.
• Keep work areas clean and orderly in accordance with 5S standards.
• Complete production logs and performs system documentation.
• Review with lead person work to be performed.
• Comply with documentation such as the follower and schedule.
• All duties assigned by KEM Lead and management.

The KEM Punch/Coater Operator is responsible for loading, unloading, testing, and operating the Spartanic Punch in the KEM department.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

• Operate, clean and troubleshoot KEM punch

Basic Qualifications:

Knowledge

• Minimum 2 to 5 years of machine operation experience
• Prior printing experience preferred
• High School diploma or equivalent work experience
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal

• Strong Mechanical aptitude
• High attention to detail and judgment based on written procedures and guidelines
• Ability to quickly identify production problems and ability to identify quality problems
• Ability to work well with others and cooperate with team members and leadership team

Physical Requirements & Work Environment:

• Sitting at workstation as little as 20% of work time, standing and walking as much as 80% depending on assignment
• Lift / push / pull up to 50 pounds
• Ability to twist, reach, squat, and bend
• Requires ability to reach, grasp, and manipulate objects
• Full color vision
• Involves moderate risks or discomforts and special safety precautions, e.g., working around moving parts, pallets, trucks and machines.
