Job summary

Cartamundi in Erlanger, KY is seeking a Machine Adjuster to maintain and tune equipment in the assigned work cell while coordinating production with maintenance and team members. The role requires hands-on mechanical aptitude and strong attention to safety and procedures.

Responsibilities include setting machine tolerances, performing minor repairs, loading components, scheduling downtime, training operators, and guiding work in the cell in the absence of a lead.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3–5 years of work experience.
• At least 2 years of machine maintenance background.
• High School diploma or equivalent work experience.
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Experience working with basic hand tools and experience making intermediate mechanical repairs and adjustments.

• Coordinate necessary production materials with floor person and team members complying with documentation such as the follower and bill of materials.
• Train other operators on operating procedures and standards.
• Direct work in the work cell in the absence of a team lead or supervisor.

The Machine Adjuster

The Machine Adjuster is responsible for the adjustments to all equipment in her or his assigned work cell, all necessary preventive maintenance routines and coordination of production within the work cell.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

• 2. Perform minor machine maintenance repairs and contact maintenance personnel when necessary
• 3. Assist the maintenance personnel with all machine repairs
• 4. Load machines with component parts such as hang tabs, tear bands, closure seals and other materials as needed
• 5. Coordinate maintenance activities and downtime with team members
• 6. Coordinate necessary production materials with floor person and team members complying with documentation such as the follower and bill of materials
• 7. Train other operators on operating procedures and standards
• 8. Direct work in the work cell in the absence of a team lead or supervisor

Basic Qualifications

Knowledge

• 1. Minimum 3 to 5 years of work experience
• 2. At least 2 years of machine maintenance background
• 3. High School diploma or equivalent work experience
• 4. Good communication skills, both written and verbal
• 5. Ability to perform all duties of stripper, punch operator, inspector and floor person
• 6. Experience working with basic hand tools and experience making intermediate mechanical repairs and adjustments

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

• 1. Sitting at workstation approximately 10% of work time, standing and walking approximately 90%
• 2. Lift / push / pull up to 75 pounds.
• 3. Ability to twist, reach, squat, kneel, and bend
• 4. Requires ability to reach, grasp, and manipulate objects and ability to use basic hand tools
• 5. Full color vision
• 6. Involves moderate risks or discomforts and special safety precautions, e.g., working around moving parts, pallets, trucks and machines.
• 7. Employees are required to use hearing protection, safety shoes.
