Job summary

Coco Coders is seeking US-based online coding teachers to inspire children aged 6-14. Lessons are 60 minutes, with materials provided by our curriculum team.

US Online Coding Teacher - Must Reside in the US

Coco Coders is an online coding school for children aged 6-14. We inspire children to learn the language of the future through creatively themed online coding lessons and our STEM.org certified computing curriculum. Students learn core coding principles and how to apply them through creative, real-world projects.

We’re looking for energetic US-based teachers who can inspire students to collaborate, be creative, and develop confidence with coding.

The Role

Our teachers are positive, energetic individuals from a range of backgrounds and experience levels. The one thing they have in common is a passion for teaching and helping children learn.

Lessons are 60 minutes, and all lesson plans and teaching materials are provided by our internal curriculum team.

This is an independent contractor position.

Requirements

You should apply if you:

• Are enthusiastic and ready to inspire children
• Have an interest in technology and coding
• Are technologically proficient and comfortable teaching online
• Are confident working with children aged 6-14
• Can break down complicated subjects into easy-to-understand concepts
• Are adaptable and able to think on your feet
• Are regularly available during evening and/or weekend hours
• Are available approximately 5-15 hours per week
• Currently reside in the United States
• Are at least 18 years old

Desirable Skills and Experience

These are helpful, but not required:

• Coding knowledge or a computer science qualification
• Special educational needs or additional learning needs experience
• Teaching certification or classroom teaching experience
• Knowledge of lesson delivery and classroom management
• Online tutoring or teaching experience

What Is the Interview Process?

Step 1: Video Interview
Answer 3 short video questions. Total time is 9 minutes or less.

Step 2: Final Interview and Trial Lesson
A 30-minute Google Meet with members of the Coco Coders team.
