Job summary

Flatworld Solutions (FWS) is seeking an experienced mortgage underwriter with deep US mortgage knowledge to join our Princeton, NJ operations. You will analyze files, calculate income, and ensure loans meet agency guidelines.

Responsibilities include underwriting Conventional and FHA loans, reviewing AUS findings, clearing conditions to reach CTC, and collaborating with processors and clients to maintain underwriting quality and compliance.

Qualifications

• Agency guidelines including Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, and FHA knowledge.
• Minimum 2+ years in US mortgage underwriting for Conventional and FHA loans.
• Ability to calculate borrower income (W2, tax returns, retirement statements, etc.).
• Experience underwriting both refinance and purchase transactions.
• Experience running AUS and using data verification and other compliance tools.
• Ability to learn investor overlays and adapt to client requirements.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite loans on client LOS for our clients.
• Review investor overlays and clarify grey areas with the manager.
• Issue conditional approval and coordinate with processors to clear conditions.
• Issue final CTC once conditions are met.
• Perform QC and provide feedback on underwritten loans.
• Re-underwrite closed loans to identify QA findings.
