Landscape Maintenance Technician

U.S. Lawns is looking for a dependable, motivated Landscape Maintenance Technician to join our team. This position is an opportunity to develop professional landscape maintenance skills while working as part of a team that takes pride in providing quality service to our commercial customers.

We are looking for someone with a can-do attitude who is dependable, willing to learn, takes pride in their work, and is ready to contribute to the team's success.

What You'll Do

As a Landscape Maintenance Technician, you will work with our team to maintain professional commercial landscapes and provide excellent service to our customers.

Field Operations
  • Report to work on time and be ready to work.
  • Remove loose trash and debris from landscape areas before mowing.
  • Remove weeds from sidewalks, curb lines, and mulch beds.
  • Report property damage to the Crew Leader.
  • Assist the crew with loading and unloading equipment at job sites.
  • Complete assigned work in a timely and professional manner.
  • Look for the next task and take initiative to keep the crew moving.
Customer Service

Our employees represent U.S. Lawns every time they are on a customer's property.

You will be expected to:
  • Always be courteous and professional.
  • Always wear a clean uniform.
  • Know how to respond appropriately when a client or member of the public asks a question.
  • Represent U.S. Lawns in a professional manner while working at customer properties.
Equipment

You will have the opportunity to learn how to properly operate, load, unload, service, and maintain professional landscape equipment.

Employees are expected to become certified through the company's training/certification program for designated equipment, including:

  • 21" mower
  • 36" mower
  • 48" mower
  • 60" mower
  • Riding mower
  • Backpack blower
  • Edger
  • String trimmer

You will also learn proper procedures for loading and unloading equipment and necessary preventative maintenance.

Safety

Safety is a responsibility shared by every member of our team.

You will be expected to:
  • Attend and participate in the company orientation program before performing work.
  • Learn and follow all company safety rules and policies.
  • Attend and participate in all required tailgate safety meetings.
  • Use appropriate personal protective and safety equipment when necessary.

Experience

Training will be provided on designated equipment and company procedures.

Physical Requirements

This is an active, outdoor position.

The employee will frequently be required to stand, walk, and sit and may occasionally be required to use their hands to handle equipment and materials, reach with their hands and arms, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, or crouch.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds.

Specific vision abilities required for the position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

Landscape maintenance is outdoor work, and employees should be comfortable working in varying weather conditions.

While performing the duties of this position, employees may occasionally be exposed to:

  • Hot, wet and/or humid, and cold conditions
  • Moving mechanical parts
  • Fumes or airborne particles
  • Toxic or caustic chemicals
  • Outdoor weather conditions

Noise levels in the work environment are usually moderate.
