Job summary

Akamai Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Manager Tax to lead a US indirect tax team and drive compliance, reporting, and strategy across state/local taxes. You will partner with external providers, tax authorities, and other Finance teams to ensure accurate filings and timely responses.

You should have 5+ years in US indirect tax, a bachelor’s degree, strong Excel skills, and proven leadership. CPA is optional, and you’ll help advance tax technology and best practices.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in US indirect tax compliance/consulting.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
• Strong Excel skills.
• Data-backed analysis capability.
• Documentation and work-paper proficiency.
• Proven ability to manage priorities and deadlines.
• Experience leading or managing a team.

Responsibilities

• Direct a team of tax professionals across compliance, reporting, and strategy.
• Liaise with external tax providers and manage audits/controversy.
• Conduct US indirect tax research (Bloomberg).
• Interact with tax authorities to resolve notices and information requests.
• Support other Finance teams on tax requirements.
• Review indirect tax compliance and approve EFT payments.
• Review exemption certificates to ensure proper tax jurisdictions.
• Drive best-practice guidelines to improve processes.
