Job summary

Scotiabank in the US seeks a Director, US Head of Hedge Fund & Counterparty Credit Risk to lead Hedge Fund Credit and Counterparty risk programs across the US. You will set risk strategy, approve complex credit proposals, and oversee governance, policies, and regulatory alignment.

Reporting to Global Head of CCR, you will build a high-performing team, drive risk data quality, and coordinate with Front Office, Risk, Legal and Compliance to close regulatory findings and ensure robust CCR controls

Qualifications

• Business degree required.
• Solid knowledge of Hedge Fund strategies and risks.
• Experience in Counterparty Credit Risk including Stress Testing.

Responsibilities

• Lead Hedge Fund Credit and Counterparty Credit Risk programs in the US.
• Own risk strategy, approvals, and governance with regulatory alignment.
• Develop CCR policies, standards, and procedures across the US platform.
• Coordinate with Front Office, Risk, Legal and Compliance to remediate regulatory findings.
• Build and manage a high-performing CCR team with a coaching mindset.
