Job summary

IMC Trading seeks an Equities Desk COO in New York to serve as the right hand to the Desk Head, driving strategic execution, operating rhythm, and culture across trading, technology, risk, and support teams. This high-visibility role offers ownership from day one and impact across the desk and firm.

You will lead priority initiatives, manage milestones, and ensure effective communication as priorities shift, with compensation aligned to individual contribution.

Qualifications

• 5+ years with stakeholder management and cross-functional execution.
• Experience in management consulting at a top-tier firm is highly valued.
• Strong STEM background (Physics, Math, Econometrics, or equivalent).
• Strategic and operational experience in finance or tech is a plus.
• Exceptional emotional intelligence and ownership in ambiguous environments.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to tailor messaging.
• Equities or financial markets exposure is a plus, not required.

Responsibilities

• Partner with the Desk Head to drive top-priority initiatives across trading, tech, risk, and business support.
• Apply structured problem-solving to evaluate opportunities and drive data-informed solutions.
• Lead high-priority projects like product expansions and operating plans.
• Own goal tracking, milestones, and cross-functional communication processes.
• Develop knowledge of market structure, competition, and regulatory developments to shape strategy.
• Manage the desk's operating rhythm and seek opportunities to improve efficiency and scalability.
• Represent desk leadership with clear, high-quality communications externally and internally.
