Job summary

BioMarin is seeking an experienced accounting professional to lead the implementation of accounting changes arising from business initiatives and strategic transactions within U.S. Controllership.

The role partners cross-functionally to ensure effective accounting processes, controls, and reporting during periods of organizational change. The position also bridges technical accounting with accounting operations, helping operationalize complex requirements in the general ledger and close process.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field is required.
• CPA or equivalent experience preferred.
• This role is hybrid requiring onsite presence in San Rafael twice per week.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a liaison between U.S. Controllership and stakeholders to support accounting initiatives.
• Translate technical accounting conclusions into practical processes and controls.
• Create and maintain procedures, documentation, and metrics for consistency and control.
• Drive process improvement and scalability within U.S. Controllership using data and metrics.
• Lead integration activities including close readiness and data flows.
• Support system implementations, process design, testing, and post-implementation stabilization.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes through AI-enabled tools and automation.
