Accenture PLC in New York is seeking a US/Canada Payroll Tax Lead to guide payroll tax operations, ensure full regulatory compliance, and manage tax filings with internal teams and a third-party provider. The role emphasizes accuracy, timeliness, and collaboration across Payroll, HR, Finance, and external partners.

The position requires strong analytical ability, experience managing complex tax questions, and a proactive approach to process improvement in a hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of payroll tax experience.

Responsabilités

• Ensure accurate calculation, withholding, and remittance of payroll taxes across federal, state, provincial, and local jurisdictions.
• Drive improvements in payroll tax processes, systems, and documentation using available AI technologies.
• Prepare/complete unsupported payroll tax filings and related reports (monthly, quarterly, annual).
• Maintain compliance with current tax laws and monitor legislative changes affecting payroll taxation.
• Manage and resolve tax notices, audits, and inquiries from government agencies per SLA.
• Coordinate and register new tax codes as needed.
• Collaborate with Payroll, HR, Benefits, Global Equity, Finance, and external vendors.
• Reconcile tax liabilities with Controllership for proper accounting.
• Implement and maintain internal controls to minimize risk and ensure data integrity.
